Dr. Amanda Slaughter Ed.D., LPC, N.C.C., RPT (Dr. Amanda) is a Child Behavioral Specialist. She holds a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, Sarasota Florida. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia, is certified through the NBCC (National Board of Certified Counselors) as a National Certified Counselor and is an RPT (Registered Play Therapist). She has conducted research at the Georgia Association of Play Therapy regarding theoretical orientations used in the field of Play Therapy. She has several years of experience working with children ages 4 and up. If you are searching for a Child Therapist who can truly make a difference in your child's life then you have found her.

Lori Holbrook M.A., LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a specialty in Christian Counseling. She has extensive experience in individual, family and group counseling modalities with adolescents, adults, couples and families. She received her Master of Arts degree in Psychology from West Georgia College & State University. Lori is a distinguished Professor at Argosy University in the Counseling Program as an Intern/Practicum Instructor for Masters level beginning counselors. She provides supervision to beginning level counselors on a frequent basis. Lori sees the family as the "expert" of themselves and she is the facilitator to move the family towards their goals. Lori offers an optional Christian perspective to all of her clients as an enhanced treatment modality. Lori truly is a wonderful Counselor and cares deeply for her clients.

Erin Pridgen M.S., LAPC, N.C.C. is a licensed Associate Professional Counselor with a Master’s of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Georgia Tech. She is also nationally certified counselor through NBCC (National Board of Certified Counselors). She is experienced in individual and group therapy with children and their families. She is currently working towards her RPT (Registered Play Therapist) under the supervision of Dr. Amanda. Erin is also a member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Play Therapy, Georgia Chapter. Erin is extremely passionate about working with children and their families to make a positive impact in their lives.

Melissa Sulhoff M.S., LAPC, N.C.C. is an Associate Level Counselor with experience in individual, family and group therapy for adolescents and adults. She is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. Melissa is also a nationally certified counselor through NBCC (National Board of Certified Counselors) She completed her Master’s of Science degree in Community Counseling at North Georgia College and State University. Melissa is also a member of the the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Melissa is wonderful and we are so excited to have her on board.

Shannon Essex M.A., LAPC is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor with a Master's of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University's Georgia School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia. She is experienced in individual, group, and family therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. She is also currently working towards her RPT (Registered Play Therapist) under the direct supervision of Dr. Amanda. Shannon is extremely passionate about working in the field of professional counseling. Shannon is fantastic and we are very happy she in on our team.

Jo-Anne T. Liakakos M.A., LAPC, NCC is an Associate level counselor with experience in individual and group therapy for adolescents and families. Jo-Anne completed her undergraduate degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a Specialization in Nutrition and her Masters in Professional Counseling from Argosy University's Georgia School of Professional Psychology. We are very blessed to have someone as talented as Jo-Anne on our team.

Ruth Chancey is in her final semester at Georgia State University earning a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling. She has experience counseling all ages, but plans to specialize in working with children through Play Therapy under the direct supervision of Dr. Amanda Slaughter. Along with her Master’s, Ruth is also pursuing a Specialist Degree in Professional Counseling. We are excited to have Ruth as part of the Family Counseling Associates of North Georgia team.

Jaclyn Hitchcock is our newest intern. She provides low cost therapy under the direct supervision of Lori Holbrook and Dr. Amanda. We are blessed to have Jaclyn and we are excited to see her blossom while she works with us.
