Yessica is bilingual in Spanish and English, and has great empathy for anyone struggling with mental health. She strives to build a client- centered therapeutic relationship where treatment is tailored to the individual. She believes therapy should give clients a safe, non-judgmental space where healing can take place. Yessica believes that everyone holds their own power and control over their life, and a part of the therapeutic journey is finding the inner-strength to take it back.
Her continuous goal is to learn and refine skills and knowledge of
CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Creative Expressive techniques.
Her areas of clinical interest are depression, anxiety, communication/conflict resolution, anger management, loss/grief, trauma, adjustment/transitional periods of life, and other areas.
Yessica is currently a member of Psi Chi Honor Society (GGC
Chapter) and Program Representative for Chi Sigma Iota at Mercer. She is under the supervision of Cristina Lorenz-Hansen.
