About Me
Sidney graduated from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA in 2018 with both a BA in Psychology and BA in Theatre. She received her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2021. Sidney’s thesis focused on utilizing expressive arts therapy with children via telehealth, publishing the first piece of literature on this topic in the field.
Sidney draws from person-centered, mindfulness, expressive arts, play, metaphor, internal family systems (IFS), and narrative therapy principles. She is passionate about exploring each client’s individual world through art, creative writing, music, dance, theatre, and more. Sidney works with young children, adolescents, parents, and families to both process past experiences and build new skills together. She has experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and other high needs. Sidney understands how intimidating therapy can feel and strives to possess cultural humility to welcome all people into the creative space without judgement. Sidney has over 10 years experience working with children and families and is currently pursuing her Associates Professional Counselor (APC) License.
