Dustin Spencer Counseling Intern

Dustin has grown up in Forsyth County and moved back after doing eight years in the military (4 in the Marine Corps and 4 in the Army). He received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2023. Due to his passion for bringing awareness to men’s mental health, he moved right into his Master's Degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University, where he is on track to graduate at the end of summer 2026.

He specializes in the challenges that men face, as well as depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. He has a deep understanding of the individual stresses and struggles that come with being a man in today’s world. For too long, Men have been told that they need to suppress their emotions. Dustin is supervised by Cristina Lorenz-Hansen.

About Me

Amy has graduated with her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and is pursuing her Associate Professional Counselor licensure. Amy’s passion is to help others live their best life. She has done this in her work supporting and mentoring military spouses, serving and encouraging moms, mentoring young moms at the local crisis pregnancy center, and mentoring adolescents in the local school system. She believes this starts with a desire to connect with and meet the unique needs of each client. Amy uses a person-centered approach and integrates theories to best match each individual; such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She believes that healing happens through connection. Amy is a member of the America Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors. She plans to pursue a play therapy certification and is under the supervision of Dr. Amanda Slaughter.
