About Me
Hey! I cannot wait to begin this journey with you! I have spent over 20 years working with children and families as an early childhood teacher and now continue to enjoy working therapeutically with them as a counselor. As a mother of 4, I believe that play is the primary method of learning. "We are never more fully alive, more completely ourselves, or more deeply engrossed in anything than when we are playing."- Charles Schaefer.
I received my BA in Elementary Education from CSU Long Beach and my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2022. I am also a graduate of Kineo Ministry Training Center in Dawsonville, GA. My clinical interests are working with children, adolescents and families and I am passionate about working to provide support to individuals with emotional dysregulation, emotional trauma, anxiety, and neurodiversity. I enjoy creating an environment that facilitates a safe therapeutic relationship where you can feel comfortable and grow in your purpose!
I mostly work from a person-centered and Adlerian theoretical orientation but utilize various interventions with my clients including CBT, DBT, and solution focused. And I cannot wait to create this space with you! In my free time, I like to visit US National parks and take road trips with my family to make memories. I have been to 35 of 50 states. I am working toward becoming an RPT (Registered Play Therapist). My approach is to help clients embrace their strengths and help adults and children alike approach life with a child's lens! Looking forward to working alongside you! I am supervised by Dr. Amanda Slaughter, Ed.D, LPC, RPT-S, CPCS.
