My Story

John R. Hairston holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology counseling with a minor in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, which he achieved in 2023. His academic journey began with a bachelor’s in psychology from the Columbia Southern University, Orange Alabama where he graduated in 2018.

 

His professional experience revolves around, addressing Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Trauma and PTSD, Relationship Issues, Stress Management, Self-esteem and Identity Development, Grief and Loss, Behavioral Addictions (e.g., internet/Gaming addiction) and LGBTQ+ issues.

 

In his therapeutic practice, he employs a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focus Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Talk Therapy, Crisis Management, and Strengths- Based Therapy. John’s fundamental belief is to empower clients with effective coping strategies, insight, and self-awareness to navigate life’s challenges and cultivate a greater sense of fulfillment and resilience.
