My Story

Sydney is a graduate student working on completing her M.S., in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. She is a member of  the Mu Upsilon Alpha chapter of Chi Sigma Iota honors society. She also holds a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Georgia. Sydney is passionate about working with families and specifically working as a play therapist. Her long term goals include pursuing her licensure post graduation and pursuing her certification as a registered play therapist.

Sydney is excited to begin her clinical work and to work specifically with families and children in a therapeutic setting. She strives to make her clients feel safe, heard and understood. She works to provide a non-judgmental and genuine environment for all of her clients. Sydney's clinical interests include working with children and adolescents facing anxiety, depression, self-esteem and self-worth deficits, grief, family issues, and trauma. Sydney has worked with children as a camp counselor and nanny since she was sixteen and has also been passionate about mental health and advocacy throughout her life. Sydney is in supervision with Dr. Amanda.
