My Story
I am a compassionate and dedicated professional committed to fostering positive mental health and well-being in individuals. With a passion for helping others navigate life's challenges, I bring a client-centered approach to my practice.
My counseling style is characterized by empathy, active listening, and a non-judgmental attitude, creating a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. I believe in the strength and resilience of individuals, recognizing that each person's journey is unique.
Through collaborative and goal-oriented therapy, I work with clients to identify strengths, build coping skills, and develop strategies for personal growth and fulfillment. Whether supporting clients through life transitions, relationship challenges, or mental health concerns, my goal is to empower individuals to lead more fulfilling and balanced lives.
By fostering a therapeutic alliance built on trust and respect, I aim to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. As a counselor, I am honored to be part of each client's journey toward greater mental and emotional well-being.
Karl is working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, focusing on couples, families and men’s issues counseling. He is currently supervised by Cristina Lorenz-Hansen, MSW, LCSW.
My Story
I am a compassionate and dedicated therapist committed to fostering emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being in both individuals and couples. My work is grounded in a client-centered approach that values curiosity, honesty, and personal growth.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) as well as a Board-Certified Christian Counselor through the National Association of Christian Counselors. I am also a certified facilitator for both Prepare-Enrich and SYMBIS, and have completed Level 1 Clinical Training in the Gottman Method.
In couples therapy, I help partners move out of stuck patterns, communicate more effectively, and rebuild trust and intimacy. Whether you're navigating conflict, recovering from betrayal, or simply hoping to strengthen your bond, I provide a collaborative and supportive space where both partners feel heard and respected. My approach draws from evidence-based models such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), always tailored to the unique needs of your relationship.
In my work with men, I support clients who may appear high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed or disconnected internally. Together, we explore the emotional undercurrents—stress, anger, anxiety, self-doubt, or difficulty expressing needs—that may be impacting their relationships, work, and self-esteem. I help men build self-awareness, emotional confidence, and more authentic relationships with themselves and others.
You don’t have to have everything figured out—just a willingness to be present and open to growth. Whether you're looking to reconnect with your partner or realign with your own goals and values, I’m here to support your journey toward meaningful change.
