Melissa Leann Foley
Master's Level Intern
Focus: Individuals, Couples, Older Adolescents, and Young Adults
My Story
Welcome, my name is Melissa.
I work with individuals, couples, older adolescents, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and the complexities of challenging relationships. In my practice, I integrate clinical approaches such as narrative therapy, somatic awareness, parts work, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed frameworks. I tailor these techniques to each client’s unique needs, often combining methods to best support their therapeutic goals.
For clients who wish to incorporate faith, I am glad to do so. Faith integration is always client-directed, and I follow your lead. My own formation includes more than two decades of ministry, graduate study at Divine Mercy University, and specialized training in healing prayer. I bring that background into the clinical space when it is meaningful to you.
My specialized training includes certification through the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology, Story Work training using Story Sage tools for trauma-informed narrative practice, and an American Counseling Association certificate in Foundations of Child and Adolescent Counseling. I am currently completing my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Divine Mercy University, and I hold membership in the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, the American Counseling Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, and the American Psychological Association.
You are welcome here exactly as you are. Supervised by Dr. Amanda Slaughter, Ed.D., LPC, RPT-S, CPCS
