About Me

Laura is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Agnes Scott College. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Emory University. Laura recognizes the healing and transformative potential of mental health counseling, which is why she chose to pursue this as a career.

Laura believes that the meanings we make of our past experiences are alive in the present and may be expressed through many different aspects of ourselves. Laura works from an existential-humanistic and experiential approach and emphasizes the importance of the process unfolding in the present moment, especially how the client relates to themselves and others and how they experience the world they live in. Laura takes a holistic view of her clients and works to find ways to address the issues at hand while remaining open to the underlying connections that may have given rise to these issues. By creating a non-judgmental environment, Laura aims to help her clients become more present to themselves so they can begin to explore and connect with what makes them feel enlivened and fulfilled.

Laura is a member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia (LPCAGA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA). Laura is working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) after graduation. Laura is supervised by Cristina Lorenz-Hensen.
