About Me
Rachel Snyder is a compassionate, client-centered counselor passionate about helping children, adolescents, young adults, and adults navigate life’s challenges in a safe, supportive environment. She earned her B.S. in Human Development and Family Science from Auburn University before earning her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Alabama. Rachel is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and is currently pursuing her Associate Professional Counselor (APC) credential in Georgia.
Rachel believes that therapy should be a space where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves, without fear of judgment. She takes the time to build genuine therapeutic relationships and understand each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Her goal is to help clients feel heard and understood while developing the tools and confidence they need to move forward.
Rachel takes an integrative approach to counseling, drawing from Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other evidence-based approaches. She believes that every client is different, and that therapy should be tailored to meet each person where they are. Rachel has a particular interest in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
Rachel views counseling as a collaborative process and feels honored to walk alongside her clients as they work toward greater self-understanding, healing, and personal growth. She strives to create a warm and accepting environment where clients can process their experiences, learn healthy coping skills, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Outside of counseling, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets, as well as finding creative outlets. She also enjoys designing and creating handmade items through her small creative business.
Rachel is currently under the supervision of Dr. Amanda Slaughter, Ed.D., LPC, RPT-S, CPCS.
