Chantal Mirza Counseling Intern

About Me

Chantal Mirza is a master’s level clinical intern at Family Counseling Associates of North Georgia. She is currently earning her Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University and is passionate about walking alongside clients as they work through life’s challenges, transitions, and healing processes. Chantal takes a warm, collaborative, trauma-informed approach to counseling. She strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. Her clinical interests include child and adolescent development, family dynamics, attachment, trauma, anxiety, depression, maternal mental health, and helping parents and families build stronger emotional connections.

 

Her background includes experience facilitating psychoeducational groups, supporting clients in substance use and mental health treatment settings, and using approaches such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral strategies, strengths-based care, and family systems perspectives. Chantal believes that every client brings unique strengths, insight, and resilience into the counseling process. Chantal is certified in perinatal mental health and as a birth story listener, and she has a special passion for supporting mothers, parents, and families through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, birth trauma, parenting stress, and major life transitions. Chantal Mirza is under the professional supervision of Dr. Amanda Slaughter, Ed.D., LPC, RPTS, CPCS.
