About Me
Aven Barbosa is a dedicated and compassionate student currently pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Kentucky. With a strong academic background in psychology and human behavior, Aven has developed a comprehensive understanding of various therapeutic techniques and approaches. Aven believes in a client-centered natural and holistic approach, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and valued.
Her counseling practice is focused on integrating therapy styles such as Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Gestalt Theory. Aven is committed to fostering strong therapeutic relationships based on trust, respect, and collaboration. She works with individuals who may struggle with depression, anxiety, self esteem issues and conflict within their personal and professional lives. She is also working with couples struggling with conflict resolution and communication issues.
Aven is excited to begin her practicum at Family Counseling Associates of North Georgia, where she will gain hands-on experience under the supervision of Rachel Bevels MS, LPC. This practicum is an integral part of her graduate program, allowing her to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations and develop practical skills in a professional setting.
