Masters In Social Work

Focus: Children, Adolescents and Young Adults

About Me

Emma earned her master’s degree in social work from Samford University as well as bachelor’s in human development and family science. Emma is passionate about supporting young people through the unique challenges of growing up in today’s complex world. For two summers, Emma was a mental health specialist at a summer camp for children ages 7-17. Emma’s therapeutic style is both empathetic and relational, grounded in trauma-sensitive, strength-affirming, and individualized care. She is informed through evidence-based techniques such as Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), play therapy, and other relational modalities to foster resilience. It is Emma’s hope that through counseling with her that you are able to gain clarity, build resilience, and develop effective strategies for lasting personal growth and emotional well-being. Emma is under the supervision of Dr. Cristina Lorenz-Hansen and Dr. Amanda Slaughter.
