Kay Rawlings MA
Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Focus: Couples, Adults, Families, Adolescents
About Me
A spouse and mother of three adult children, Kay spent 10 years in her early career working in corporate Human Resources and later lived three years with her family cross-culturally in Guatemala. After returning the States, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Truett-McConnell University in 2025 and earlier a Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University.
She draws on these experiences and her training to support older adolescents, young adults, and adults and families with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, parenting, and navigating challenges launching from the family into adult life and independence. In her clinical practice, Kay uses an integrated, person-centered approach, employing techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Somatic Experiencing and other modalities.
She believes in each individual’s capacity for personal growth and problem-solving and supports clients by highlighting strengths, celebrating accomplishments large and small, and walking alongside them through their unique journey.
Kay is supervised by Dr. Amanda Slaughter, Ed.D, LPC, RPT-S, CPCS.
